With the completion of a major e literacy project, Malappuram has become the first district in India to become fully e-literate, with over six lakh individuals having a basic knowledge of computers, including the Internet. The projects called AKSHAYA which was a major attraction at WSIS Geneva is the cause of this achievement.Akshaya is a project devised by the Kerala State IT Mission in Malappuruam.
